Each bus tape has ATLAS serial numbers assigned by the convention described below

XX is either
- SB for Strip Barrel
- SE is for Strip Endcap

a is set by the tape type as follows:
- For the strip barrel tapes:
- 1 Left Long Strip
- 2 Right Long Strip
- 3 Left Short Strip
- 4 Right Short Strip
- 0 Design not recognized / early prototype

• For the strip endcap tapes:
  
  • 1 Petal front
    
  • 2 Petal back
    
  • 0 Design not recognized / early prototype
    

b is set by the home institution:
- 0 Oxford
- 1 Yale

cdefg is the zero-padded tape serial number
